DKXL Bike Break Down

I spent a lot of time in the 48 hours I had between travel to get all the details and set-up dialed on my bike before I hit the road to Kansas. All was perfect except for the two water bottle bolts that I forgot to tighten…

Salsa Warbird – I so love my Warbird! The intentional design in handling, comfort and responsiveness is the perfect balance for a gravel bike!

Shimano Di2 GRX Groupset (31/48 x 11-32) – Wow. Just wow. I welcome this groupset in a huge way to the gravel and adventure category of cycling. Nice job Shimano!

Salsa 44cm Cowchipper Handlebar (topped with Fizik Gel Pads and wrapped w/ Salsa bar tape) – I swapped my bars the morning I was leaving and so glad I did. When on the bike for over 100 miles or so I prefer a wider bar for stability and more of an open chest. Comfort equals speed in the long game.

HED Aerobars w/ bar end Di2 shifters – The flip up design allows the use of the flats. I’ve been using these for years and unfortunately they stopped production of them. Email them and ask anyway. I’m glad I have two sets and spare parts!

Custom bags on aero bars – Cute, I know.

Garmin 830 w/ direct mount power pack – Still had 100% after 23 hours and I am really enjoying the updated features on the 830. The map processing is so fast too!

Fenix PD35 light – I also used the same light on my helmet. Running two lights will make you faster when used properly. Just sayin…

Fizik Arione – So, so comfortable. I really like the traditional long nose, especially with aero bars, as I move around a bit and like to get up on the nose for more power.

Cane Creek eeSilk seatpost – Here’s the deal. I was more or less testing this product. The beauty of a product like this is when you don’t know it is there and I never once noticed it but know it is taking some edge off. I personally don’t think I need it on the Warbird as it is so comfortable without it but if you ride a bike that has any abrupt harsh feel in the rear I would not hesitate to get this product.

Wolftooth Roll-Top (seat) Bag – It held my rain jacket and winter weight gloves. I have hand issues and really need to be conscious of what I do and not let them get cold.

Industry Nine i9.35 Wheels w/ ceramic bearings – So bomber and so fast!

Teravail Rutland 38 Tires – I feel so confident running this tire at speed. It grips. It climbs out of ruts. It corners. It sheds mud. It works. It could be my new favorite!

iSSi Flash III Pedals – Custom colors and spin for days with the triple bearing!

Three Salsa Nickless bottle cages – (2) water bottle, (1) tool bottle

Rockgeist Custom Framebag

NO backpack!
